05/10: Ultimate Frisbee is so hot right now!
Australian University Games, Gold Coast, QLD.
23 - 29 September
My first and last university games experience was nothing short of unforgettable. A week of sun, surf, turf, themed-parties, hot hot hot!, question games, 12 hour road trips, hotel breakfasts, big bananas and who could forget Kanga court.
I thank the Ultimate Frisbee team of UTS for an amazing experience. We may have gotten wooden spoon (last place) but as they say it's all about the journey rather than the destination.

Cam, you are definitely a trooper and your title of marathon woman doesn't do justice to your high-energy, bubbly and zesty attitude for life. Thanks for all of your support both on and off the field. We must have a boogie in Sydney some time soon!
Rosie, thanks for doing such a great job of managing our crazy team. I know that I would have run out of money on the second day if it wasn't for your help... so thank you! Thanks also for lending the team your PPPs and for taking down the Kanga Court scores... Where should I send the cheque?
Mick-star! It was a pleasure getting to know you during the week. I hope your vertical stack has gone down and that your back is on its way to recovery. Once again, you are such great value! I am glad that Gill gave back your L-plate just in time. Please let me know if you need any counseling for your two-tone-wife-beating tendencies!
Chele, MUM! Thanks for the costumes, wake-up calls, cold-sausage sandwiches, high-energy-dancing and paw paw cream. I hope that the black-ant bite is getting better! Please say to Timmy G for us all!
Suj, I don't think your hair smells like a wet dog. Thanks for all of your support during the week and for not touching Rosie! Remember to moisturise your legs to keep them silky-smooth. BTW I loved the red socks with your pink skirt and f-bomb, low-neck, yellow singlet.
Brett, you are a legend! Thanks for allowing us to use your car during the week and for dropping me all the way to Guildford last night. Thanks again for the Dominos Pizza and I am glad that you were able to fit in a surf up at Goldy. Similar to Mick, please let me know if you need any help with your black-beater issues.
Asha, what can I say? GUAPA MVP! Thanks for all of the great memories and for sharing your emotions with the entire group throughout the week. It was such an honour to be a part of the team, so thank you for introducing me to FCUTS! Muchas gracias! Would you like another Smirnoff Black? Consume!
Hens, thanks for busting out some great tunes at the apartment and for some spectacular moves on the field. I will never forget just how tight your pink pants were on Thursday. And I am sure we won't let you live them down anytime soon. Hope you got home alright!
Mel, you are the epitome of the good ol', Aussie pocket rocket! You were a star both on and off the field and I don't know how you were able to be on-time, all the time, but it is something that I will aspire towards in the future! Well done also with the new dance move - falling asleep whilst standing up! So hot right now!
Tom, you definitely deserve the title of party animal! You were at all of the parties, you were part of the sunrise group and on top of that you had enough skills to take out the MVP Award!!! Well done! It was great rooming with you (thanks for not putting honey in my hair (or lack thereof) nor stealing my accreditation). I thank you for taking on board my suggestion of the beer can down your pants... It was merely a joke, but just like everything else, you gave it 120% and then some [insert reference to stain here!] Thanks for always being cool, calm and collected.
And finally, Uncle Josh. I was going to be passive aggressive and completely ignore you in this post... It would have only been fair, don't you think? And yes, that was a question! Thank you for making the time to be part of the team... It wouldn't have been the same without you. Enjoy the golf up at Newcastle and I hope the grandpa injuries subside in time for the post-AUG parties. Do you think you can make them? Or will you be sleeping? Would you like for me to repeat that? A little louder, perhaps?
Seriously, I have nothing BEYONCE to say than to thank you all for an amazing week. Although it will be my first and last, it was definitely the SHAKIRA decision to come to AUGs. And I am just grateful that I was able to share this experience with such a talented, spirited and hot, hot, hot group of exxtreme individuals. Frisbee was definitely the winner on the day!
